3D Printed Futuristic Wedge Leather Shoe

What does the future of shoes look like? With knowledge of shoe construction and 3D modeling/printing, Christine Choi has created a 3D printed wedge that fits to the wearer's foot, giving them full comfort as well as still maintaining a sense of tradition by using quality leather.

A pattern was created from the last. Then by measuring the curves of the foot, an abstract wedge was created inspired by a wedge of Swiss cheese. After 3D printed in a vibrant red, the bottom were plated with copper to give it a unique sound when walked upon. To match, the insole was finished with copper leather. Then using the pattern, a thick sky blue leather lined with black lamb skin was created, and then the design was finished when the red elastic with gold embellishments were added.
